One of the most common questions we get is how much a powerflush costs, and whether it’s worth it. We think you deserve a straight answer — so here are our actual prices, what they include, and what affects the total.

We’ve been powerflushing central heating systems across Manchester, Cheshire and the North West since 1999. Our prices are typically significantly less than the national names — because we don’t have their overheads. We do have their standards.

What’s Included in the Powerflush Cost?

Every powerflush we carry out includes:

Full connection of our professional Kamco powerflush machine to your system
High-velocity flush of every radiator, all pipework, the pump and boiler heat exchanger
Professional Kamco descaling and sludge-removal chemicals
Corrosion inhibitor added to the clean system on completion
Written completion certificate showing pre- and post-flush pH and TDS water quality readings — confirmation the system is clean, in writing
Advice on ongoing system maintenance, including whether a magnetic filter would benefit your system

We do not rush the job. A standard three-bedroom home takes four to six hours. We work to BS7593 — the British Standard for treatment of water in domestic hot water central heating systems — and your completion certificate confirms this.

British Gas and Homeserve Customers — We’re Often Half the Price

If you’ve received a quote from British Gas, Homeserve or another national firm and been surprised by the cost, call us. We regularly save customers several hundred pounds on like-for-like work — using the same Kamco equipment and working to the same BS7593 standard — without the large-company overheads that inflate their pricing.

We’re a Gas Safe registered specialist operation (No. 555837), not a generalist firm that offers power flushing as one of many services. It’s all we do, and we’ve been doing it since 1999.

What Affects the Final Price?

The prices above cover the majority of standard domestic systems. The final cost may vary if:

Your system has more than 10 radiators. Each additional radiator above 10 is £35. A 13-radiator system on a combi boiler, for example, would be £580 + (3 × £35) = £685.

Your system is microbore. Narrow 8mm and 10mm microbore pipework requires a different approach and more time. Microbore pricing is quoted individually — visit our dedicated microbore powerflush page or call us to discuss.

The system is very heavily contaminated. In rare cases, a severely blocked system may require a second pass or additional chemical treatment. We’ll tell you if this applies before we start — not after.

You want extras on the day. A magnetic filter or a new pump fitted on the same visit is the most cost-effective time to do it. We’ll quote these separately before we begin.

No. Our prices are not subject to VAT. The price quoted is the price you pay.

No deposit is required. Payment is due on completion of the work.  We can take cash or BACS payment on the day

We accept bank transfer and cash. Call to confirm current payment options when booking.

Yes. Every powerflush includes a written completion certificate showing pre- and post-flush pH and TDS readings. This confirms the system is clean and is useful for boiler warranty purposes, landlord compliance records, and if you ever sell the property.

A standard three-bedroom home with up to 10 radiators typically takes four to six hours. Larger properties or heavily contaminated systems may take longer. We’ll give you an honest time estimate when you book.

With a corrosion inhibitor dosed at the end of the flush (included in our price) and good system maintenance, a powerflush should last ten years or more before the system needs cleaning again. Fitting a magnetic filter extends this further by capturing debris before it can accumulate.

It should protect it rather than affect it. Most boiler manufacturers require a BS7593-compliant system flush as a condition of warranty. Our completion certificate confirms the flush was carried out to that standard.

He came on-time and check my home's setup in detail. and he did a good tunning on my heating system. also he explained to me the limitation of power flushing and what it can and cannot do. Very well satisfied with Barry’s job. His professional and personal approach filled me with confidence and it was clear that he knew exactly what he was doing. He turned up on time and quickly assessed the layout on set up his gear outside the back door near to the radiator that he would tap into. He updated me at every step of the way and showed me the sludge that was coming out. He willingly dealt with 3 thermostatic valves that needed replacing. He finished up by bleeding all the rads and re-balancing where necessary. He left the job in great condition after tidying up along with relevant paperwork. Well done Barry and many thanks.

Barry provided us with excellent service. We live in a flat so we were a bit nervous about doing a power flush. Barry had to bring all his equipment upstairs and set up inside which he did with great care. He took time to plan his approach and tested the system thoroughly before starting. Our main problem was that we had a big radiator that was cold because of a block in the pipes. Barry successfully cleared the blockage and then methodically worked around the system to clear each radiator, finally adding inhibitor to keep everything clean. He explained each step of the power flush to us. The whole process took about 7.5 hours and didn't leave any mess at all. The problem radiator is now perfect and the whole system is hot. Barry is thoughtful, methodical and above all a professional. He is also a great guy to have in the house for the day. We were very impressed.

We had Pro Powerflush today to sort out a long term problem with cold radiators that others had failed to do. Barry was great and tenacious in hunting for the problem. Recently had issues with sludge build up in 14yr old heating system. Boiler maintenance co recommended Barry to do powerflush & fit waterfilter. Barry was brilliant from booking in with him to finishing in the job. He communicated throughout to explain what was happening and why he was doing it. He was tidy in the way he worked and left it like he had never been. We recently just had an under floor heating installed and he took his time to explain how it worked and got it up and running which the builder had failed to do. Hi all this fella is one in a million answered my calls for help on a Sunday telling me what my problem was. He told me to phone him the next day when I have the power flush machine setup and he would talk me through it. He did not have to do that as it is his livelihood and how he earns his living. I would really recommend him if you need your system flushing, my heating has never worked better it is now running more efficiently the radiators have never been so hot, so it hould save on heating costs. I was advised to have a Power Flush from an independent boiler service who didn't offer power flushing themselves. I shopped about and I got turned down by a different company. Barry arrived at 9.30 am the exact time he said he would arrive at and proceeded to carry out the flushing of our system. He stayed until nearly 6 pm as one of upstairs towel rails was not working properly, he got it working and then balanced the whole system. Barry was very thorough and has a passion for doing the job correctly. Our heating system is now performing much better than it did before Barry’s visit.

Barry was absolutely brilliant. Got out to us within a week of calling. We had a non-functioning radiator in the house we’ve just moved into and clearly a load of sludge in the radiator/heating system that was compromising radiator heat and putting pressure on the boiler. He arrived on time, was friendly and was a very clean worker. Barry sorted out the blocked radiator after trying a few different approaches and has saved me replacing it or pulling floorboards up which is a massive relief. He gave us some great advice about getting the best out of our heating based on the radiator layout and we’re getting him back soon to replace all the caves and thermostatic valves to future proof the system. The water running through the system was crystal clear by the time he was done with it. Absolute bargain for a full system power flush, the radiators are running the hottest they’ve probably been for years and I’ve no doubt there’ll be plenty of money I’ll save in energy bills with a more efficient system. Barry let me know the issues with small microbore pvc pipes to radiators before I agreed to go for it. However after 11 hrs of non stop graft to un block the issue legs he achieved success, now heat in areas I hadn't seen heat for a long time. Well pleased I chose a "old school" conscientious bloke, who never gave up. My next step was ripping ceilings down or marine board cutting to get to small bore connections, but thankfully not required. Thanks Barry

Fantastic service from an honest trader. Barry gave our old central heating system a much needed powerflush and it's working much better now. The whole process took around 6-7 hours. Our boiler had been short cycling meaning our radiators never got very hot and the powerflush has fixed this. He added inhibitor afterwards so hopefully our system will stay working efficiently for years to come.

Had our system power flushed today by Barry from pro powerflushing extremely knowledgeable guy, I hired this company to flush out our rads and boiler system after british gas had "fixed it" (I use this term loosely)and were quoting £4500 to replace our boiler saying it was on its last legs, after doing a bit of research we decided to try a powerflush first as either way want a fresh system for it to run on if we did need a new boiler found Barry on you tube after a google search. Communication was quick and clear from the start, Barry arrived exactly when he said he would. The work was thorough, and he explained every step so I knew what was happening. Our 15-year-old Viessmann boiler has been serviced annually and is still going strong. The zone valve and pump have been renewed in the last year. Despite this our lounge radiator hadn’t heated up for several years, and our hall and dining room radiators had recently given up the ghost. Thoroughily impressed by Barry's Power Flushing service. From the off, his communications were excellent and he arrived precisely on time.
